This deck was built over an existing patio. The walk way around the conservatory was very narrow and partially surrounded by a low stone wall. The low stone wall around conservatory was removed and the deck was constructed over the patio. The deck area around the conservatory was extended to widen access. Box steps were built in front of the conservatory and patio doors. The deck could have been built higher, which would not have required the box steps, however the priority was to keep the deck as low as possible. The outer retaining walls were boxed in with TGV cladding. Low level balustrade was fitted so that view from inside the conservatory was unrestricted. The steps down to the lawn were built into the deck so that there was no loss of lawn space.
